A study introducing equipment maintenance software
If you have ever worked in a mine environment you would know how an equipment breakdown can affect operations. Some companies run 24 hour operations. They need to have the equipment functioning in pristine condition. I was recently involved in a study that investigated the use of equipment maintenance software. The aim was to see what effect a new scheduling system would have on reducing breakdown times and improving the bottom line. The conclusion was that by scheduling maintenance in an effective manner you can reduce the number of breakdowns. This has a definite effect on your bottom line. As a result the company that I work for is planning to investigate this software further.
