When writing a sales letter, the most important job the letter has to do is to sell the product or service. Some people emphasize the business letter format or the letter must follow the AIDA formula (AIDA is short for “Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.”). Don’t get me wrong, all of the above are important, but the most important part of a sales letter is to connect with the reader to get the person to do what you want them to do. That is to take out their hard earn cash or credit card and give you the order. Sometimes AIDA works, sometimes it may be as simple as I have this on offer, take it or leave it.
