Church Chair Evolution
Believe it or not church chairs has gone through an evolution over time. The first meetings began outdoors or in school houses where everyone would sit wherever they could. Rocks, the ground or floor, tables, etc. Once there began to be designated building for worship there developed something called a pew or bench. These were elongated benches meant to hold a number of people and maximize space efficiency. Now, most churches have gone to individual chairs because of their versatility and ease of use. They can be pushed together to be used as a pew to maximize spatial efficiency if needed or used as multipurpose chairs for other events.
