Video Game Enthusiasts

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

My husband and I have always loved playing different video games together. It is actually how we met, when we were enjoying a game day at a mutual friend’s house several years back. When we heard about the free Nintendo Wii mobile deals that we could get while selecting a new phone service, we jumped on it. Who wouldn’t want to win a full game system just by signing up for a phone service? We would need the phones no matter what, and the Wii was just a huge bonus. We love to be able to play our games together, and are collecting all of the systems.

Nintendo DS brings profits to Ubisoft

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Ubisoft, the video game developer, has just recently released their financial documents, and according to r4ds, a majority of their profits have been video games for the Nintendo DS platform. If these figures indicate anything, Ubisoft better hope that the Nintendo DS will remain the top portable gaming device out there in the market. Without the Nintendo DS, Ubisoft would take big losses. But it also would make sense if Ubisoft started to focus on other gaming platforms in which they could make money with. Maybe Ubisoft should being developing video games for the Sony Playstation portable platform as there should be a big market in that platform.

iPod touch or nano?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

There are two new iPod kids on the block. One is an all new iPod nano. The 4th gen Apple iPod nano is all new with its slimmer profile, larger real glass curved screen and built-in accelerometer. It’s the sexiest and most advanced iPod nano yet. Then there is the Apple iPod touch second gen, or the iPod touch 2G as some call it. Sites like iPod Blog are claiming it is the best iPod yet. With its touch screen, iPhone 3G looks and ability to connect to the internet and download apps, it just really may be the best iPod ever. How will Apple ever top these 2 great iPod players?

All Sansa can do is look up

Monday, October 27th, 2008

It must be discouraging to know that while sales of the iPod have been slowing down lately, profits for Apple are still steady, and in some cases have increased. This does not sit well with SanDisk, whose Sansa player sits at the bottom of the MP3 ladder. While the Zune and the iPod are far more popular choices for MP3 players, SanDisk may be able to create some new buzz with their SlotPlayer. Sansa Accessories is hoping to make the microSD the new CD, and with the new SlotPlayer, they might be able to step into a new arena that no other MP3 player company has gone before.

Pink DS sales on the rise

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The pink DS has surpassed all expectations for sales. It was expected that the pink DS would be popular with female gamers but Nintendo did not predict this level of popularity. It seems that well over 50% of female gamers chose the pink DS over any other colour. When I ask a 10 year old girl for her reason in picking that colour, she said it was because she liked it best. Well you shouldn’t expect a much better answer from a 10 year old I suppose. Anyway Nintendo must be very pleased with their sales of the pink DS as they are planning a pink DSi too.

The options of website development

A burgeoning business in society today is website development. It seems that everyone today has a website. Businesses, musicians, schools, governments, all of them and a host of others all seem to have need of a website. With such a calling, people who can make a website are very much in demand. Website creation can be done by almost anyone with the proper programs, however, for a top quality, professional looking website, money still talks. It really depends on your needs. If you are an individual, or a small business you can have a good website on a shoestring budget, but if you are a large business or company or you want to make an impression, it would make sense to spend the money that it takes to get a class A website.
