Small groups which are helping needy children need to be better backed

Small, hard-working groups which are helping needy children are not always appreciated or supported. Did you notice the figures for AIDS and HIV, for example. At the international conference in Mexico this week the plight of these needy people was again highlighted. That was good. But did you notice the number of small groups on the side who were lobbying and protesting and trying to raise attention? If they had all been fully funded and backed they would not have been wasting resources sending people to a talk-fest. They would be helping the needy with AIDS in their project area. The needy children they target are their focus, not these big donor and government conferences that raise awareness but not much in the way of practical help for the needy.
