Smoking: Its Not Just About You, Quit for Others

After finding out some alarming facts, I would encourage smokers everywhere to not just quit for themselves but to quit for others, as well. We all know that secondhand smoke increases the risk of cancer. The effects of secondhand smoke may be even more damaging to children. Children that inhale secondhand smoke are more likely to have ear problems, contract bronchitis, and asthma. Sadly, infants exposed to secondhand smoke are at a higher risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Besides these horrible side effects, don’t forget that children who live in the presence of secondhand smoke are much more likely to smoke themselves later in life.
