Those who engage in physical activity under conditions that are harsh may get stroke can put the elderly, the very young, the poor, those with chronic illnesses, substance abusers. Hyperthermia is the main cause of American’s death at about 370 to 400 each year. What happens is that most problems may result from dehydration as the body is trying to sweat the heat away. Sweating excessively can lead to loss of salt which can damage the cells and the organs. Because of the loss of fluids blood pressure drops and the heart and respiration rates increase. The treatment can include rehydration and cooling.
