Keep your Resume Legal.

Even if you are applying for overseas jobs keep your resume legal. With Affirmative Action laws it is important to keep discriminatory information out of your resume. That includes a photo. It reveals too much information about you, so never send a photo with your resume. Do not use your social security number on your resume. You should not reveal your gender, age, height, or weight. You may need to verify that your are at least eighteen or twenty-one in some cases but you are not required by law to reveal a specific age or date of birth. Avoid things like religion preferences and cultural background. It is OK to reveal any languages in which you are fluent. You also do not need to reveal your marital status. The best advice is to keep your information legal. By the way, never lie on a resume or application. If the employer later finds the information is false, it could be grounds for dismissal.
