Beware of Caribbean Medical Schools
Caribbean medical schools have many advantages that are not offered by US medical schools. However, you must be careful when choosing medical schools located in the Caribbean. This is because not all of them are accredited. If you get a degree that is not accredited in the United States, it will not be accepted. In other words, you’re M.D. title will be meaningless.
Additionally, some Caribbean Medical Schools teach their courses in Spanish. This means that if you do not speak Spanish then there is no way you’re going to pass the courses. Finally, it is harder to land a residency position at the schools, because there are fewer positions available.
