Professional Sports Injury Information
It was surprising to find out that the athletes that play professional sports often carry no insurance on themselves. The organizations that they play for and the player’s unions usually have blanket policies that the athletes are included under, but the individual players do not have their own. While this could be a money saving tool, it seems like a risk. While sports insurance can be expensive, protecting the livelihood of yourself for your family seems like an easy decision. It is possible that the union has insurance that is so extensive that it is not necessary for players to have their own, but it still seems risky to me.
